Another fresh artist enters the Cosmic Disco catalog with her debut single ‘How Many Times’. Rissa Garcia’s funky and deep sounds are not only heard in her own productions and DJ sets, but also her ability to curate and oversee her NYC based label, Nightchild Records. With three soulful remixes, the entire EP presents a broad spectrum of deep and heartbreak house music.
Rissa’s original mix opens up the release with a soaring and sophisticated track about lost love. Her use of classic vocal snippets and emotive key stabs lie perfectly over slick and bouncing percussion. Romanian artist Addex, with releases on labels like i Records, Pesto, and Evren Ulusoy’s Kommunity, brings a hypnotic and deep remix perfect for the spring season. Aquatic effects and delays make his version a sensory driven ride as a simple arrange creates an easy track to get totally lost in.
Label heads Zweistein pair up once more to supply a booming and bass heavy mix relying on straightforward oldskool to the floor groove. One for getting shy listeners onto the dance floor, the duo’s remix supplies only steady beats and energetic drops. Finally, Jon Billick returns with his first ever remix for the imprint. Joining a fellow New York producer he delivers a more minimal and somber rendition of the tune with city soundscapes and percy fills.
