After bursting into the public consciousness with a stunning debut release for Amsterdam’s Audio Culture, that garnered support from the likes of South London Ordnance through to Friendly Fires, the hardware enthusiast and all round audiophile arrives with his most substantial body of work to date and proves himself as major force in the process.
The four tracks present show a mastery of the studio around him and affirm Zabiela’s skill as one of the finest selectors working in the scene today, whose willingness to champion young talent is paying dividends by establishing a roster of artists hungry to defy convention. This is evident throughout ‘Things We Lost Along The Way’, as it deftly moves from dance floor hedonism to emotive introspection in the blink of an eye, whilst skilfully maintaining it’s unique slant on sun-drenched acid that shows the work of a producer firing on all cylinders.
